Wang Zengqi, born on March 5, 1920 in Gaoyou, Jiangsu, is a representative figure of contemporary Chinese writers, essayists, playwrights, and Beijing School writers. He is known as a lyrical humanist, a pure literati in China, and also a scholar official in China

Gaoyou is the hometown that Wang Zengqi dreams of, the paradise of his happy and beautiful childhood, and the warm home of his spiritual world. This has cultivated his warm personality and also created a sincere and elegant artistic style in his works. Wang Zengqi wrote Gao You into the history of Chinese literature with his words, leaving Gao You in the history of Chinese literature.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Wang Zengqi's birth, the Gaoyou Municipal Party Committee and Government have decided to establish the Wang Zengqi Cultural Characteristic Block Project around the "Gathering Cultural Talents" and "Gathering Talents for Innovation" projects, in order to expand the "famous city, celebrity, and business card" effect of Gaoyou and enrich the cultural business card elements of Gaoyou city.

The memorial hall is located at 69 Zhujia Lane, Fugongqiao Road, Gaoyou. The museum follows the concept of "one axis, two belts, and three sections" and is divided into four functional areas: Wang Zengqi Memorial Hall, Wang Mi Tribe, Wang Family Banquet, and Wang Family Inn; There are 11 exhibition halls on the two floors of the museum, divided into five themes: "One Hundred Year Old Wang", "Wang Zengqi's Literary World", "My Hometown in Gaoyou", "Lovely Old Man", and "Eternal Nostalgia", fully showcasing Wang's master style of writing, creating, and having a fun life. The museum has successively been awarded the titles of Lixiahe Literature School Research Base, Jiangsu Province Social Education Learning Experience Base, Yangtze River Delta Citizen Lifelong Learning Experience Base, Yangzhou City Cadre Education and Training Site Education Base, Yangzhou City Integrity Culture Base, Gaoyou City Literature "Ten Advances" Activity Demonstration Base, Gaoyou Canal Rule of Law Culture Experience Point, etc. The "Hometown of Chinese Literature" is listed at the Wang Zengqi Memorial Hall and is a new era literary practice point of the China Writers Association and the Jiangsu Writers Association.
